Calculate invention cost for T2 and T3 manufacturing
Compare research options before buying datacores and decryptors. EveHub accounts for the invention route, current skills, success probability and resulting BPC parameters alongside the cost of manufacturing the finished item.
What EveHub includes
- T2 and T3 invention routes from the local catalog
- Success probability using current science skills
- Decryptor comparison, including no decryptor
- Datacores, BPC parameters, ME/TE and runs
- Research cost and time within the manufacturing plan
How to use it
Choose a blueprint with an invention route
Add a T2/T3 item to the calculation and open its research settings. Automatic invention requires a route in the catalog. If no route exists, as with Monitor, enter blueprint parameters manually: the calculator does not invent a BPC source.
Compare decryptors using the whole order
A decryptor changes success probability, runs and the resulting ME/TE. Higher probability alone does not make an item cheaper: the decryptor costs ISK, while BPC runs and efficiency change manufacturing costs. Compare total order profit and duration, including the option without a decryptor.
Account for skills, consumables and science slots
The calculation uses the selected researcher’s current skill levels. A missing skill counts as level 0; unmet requirements appear as a warning. Datacores, decryptors and other consumed sources require market prices. Science slots and research dependencies enter the detailed plan’s schedule.
Expected cost is not a guarantee of success
Illustrative example: at a 40% success chance and 1 million ISK of consumables per attempt, the expected cost of one successful result is 1 / 0.4 = 2.5 million ISK before other expenses. This is a statistical estimate, not a promise of success within a fixed number of attempts. Unit manufacturing cost also depends on BPC runs and the cost of building the output.
Frequently asked questions
Can every T2 ship be invented?
No. An existing invention route is required. For an item without a route, EveHub keeps manual blueprint parameters and does not add automatic research.
Can I estimate research with missing skills?
Yes. If no trained researcher has available science slots, the calculation can use current skills and show a warning. This estimate does not mean the job can already be started in the game.
Where can I try an example without registering?
Open the EveHub working example linked on this page. It includes a prepared T2 calculation with research, build-versus-buy comparison, stages and a material list.
